Minimum Education
Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
10 years Leadership experience in quality improvement and/or safety in multi-hospital systems, medical groups, and integrated delivery systems. Must have a demonstrated track record of success supported by industry leading reporting systems and publications in peer reviewed journals. Leadership experience in local, state, and national associations and taskforces improving quality and safety (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Expertise in the area of specialty.
Strong knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiar with department budget and interpersonal communication.
Demonstrated leadership at the national level.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff category physician on the medical staff of Children’s National Hospital (Required) Board certified or eligible for board certification in primary practice specialty (Required)
Board certification in relevant secondary specialty (Preferred)

- Support the advancement of health outcomes through implementing standardization in care by collaborating with medical, nursing and operations.
- Facilitate new care models to advance patient processes and systems of care.
- Design, implement and execute plans to achieve successful outcomes of organizational goals.
- Create a learning environment for utilization of improvement science tools and strategies to improve systems.
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to advance improvements in patient safety, quality, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the enterprise risk management process as it relates to clinical risk.
- Engage with the external leaders to maintain real-time industry changes and new developments in the relevant areas.
- Make connections and foster external relationships to the benefit of CNMC.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to implement data analytic programs to measure and improve processes and outcomes on performance improvement initiatives.
